Thelma Smoot completed her Certified Lay Speakers’ program in April 2007. As a little girl she was drawn to the Bible through its stories. “Few things touch us as deeply as a good story. God knows this about us. That is why I believe so much of Scripture is written as narratives. God knows that He can get through to us when we see, hear and experience His story.” (Max McLean)
Thelma landed on the footsteps of Macedonia United Methodist Church ten years ago after relocating to Ocean City, New Jersey from Mechanicsville, Maryland. She has been an active Worship Leader and often leads the Children’s Sermon.
