Rev. Brian Roberts, Senior Pastor, has a passion for what he has termed “Spiritual Gardening”…growing disciples of Jesus Christ in a hotbed of dynamic ministry and missions; rooted in God’s love that connects us with God, each other, ourselves and God’s world.  Disciples, Pastor Brian believes, “are then called by God to purposefully use their unique gifts to reach out with love and justice and act as Christ’s hands and feet in the world.”

He earned a Bachelors degree from Colgate University, a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers Graduate School of Management.

Pastor Brian has a broad background of over 22 years of ministry that includes serving as a pastor in East Tennessee, a mutli-cultural urban church in Trenton, New Jersey, and leading a two-hundred year old congregation, across the bay from Atlantic City, in growing from a mid-sized village church to a large church serving its area.

He has also facilitated and led sessions with a number of companies and congregations in visioning, team-building and unleashing energy to enable their organizations to thrive.

For Brian, faith is an active adventure. 
“Faith is not a compartment but where mind and heart meet. My goal is to introduce people to the living Christ, to invite them to draw from the treasures of faith and the history of God’s Church and to equip people to apply their faith to their daily lives.” 
He seeks to integrate his life—mind, body and spirit—and enjoys running, weight lifting, and fishing as well.

He is a member of the Future Search Network and the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference Episcopacy Committee.

Brian was born and raised in upstate New York, near Syracuse.  His wife, Sandra DeForest Roberts, MS, RD, and he were married at St. Peter’s in 1987, as Brian began his ministry here, serving four years as Associate Pastor.  They have two children, Alyson and Nathan ….a little dog, a number of hermit crabs and several fish too!
